This handsomely illustrated guide to gentle and safe homeopathic remedies is an easy-to-use reference manual filled with practical information that will help you care for your family's health on a daily basis. With The Family Homeopath you can determine when to consult a homeopathic physician, when to seek traditional medical advice, and when to treat the family member at home. Sixty of the most commonly used homeopathic remedies are listed in an easy-to-use, alphabetical reference section with individual profiles describing problems and symptoms, and how each remedy is best administered. The Family Homeopath identifies and suggests treatments for more than fifty common family ailments including: colds, infections, fevers, digestive problems, allergies, emotional stress, women's problems, children's ailments, accidents, and emergencies.
Doctors only offered skepticism and cynicism for my ills. Yet, when I applied herbal and vitamin supplements, combined with eating according to my blood type, my health recovered. The information in this book is priceless. I've seen negative reviews by medical professionals, with which I made one noteworthy observation. We are CONSTANTLY given negative reports in the news by medical professionals about vitamin C, vitamin E, Saw Palmetto, and so on. Yet, note the complete ABSENCE of negative reports by such medical professionals with regard to drugs. The ONLY occasion you hear a negative report about drugs is when some drug company is sued by lawyers in a class action advertisement on television (drugs, by the way, which were approved by the FDA). It seems that, like the American Bar Association, the American Medical Association is an unchecked monopoly by the federal and state governments. The fact the FDA sanctions drugs that result in injury and death shows that economic monopoly, not the welfare of the community, is its cheif prerogative.

I live in Houston, where there are various health food stores in the city; there are few employees in the larger places that know all that they should/could to make useful recommendations. I've discovered that some employees try to make recommendations based only on a recommendation they received from a friend, or based only on their own "sampling" of a particular remedy (without trying others, for comparison). I first saw this book in one of those stores, and discovered the book was organized extraordinarily well for assisting in choosing homeopathic remedies. The clarity of the write-ups for the different aspects of various ailments helps to be more specific in selecting the right remedy. "TFH" isn't extremely detailed; I combine this book with another to provide a significant amount of detail on the remedies themselves. Obviously, it also helps to have the dosing recommendations from the remedy manufacturer's brochures, too, but those aren't always available. I've been very happy with this book.
