Capturing a figure's unique personality and multifaceted quality inatercolour is challenging - but Stabin demonstrates step-by-step how the newrtist can capture the figure by painting simply, directly... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Mel stabin paints with care and planning for his subject and is interested in portraying the figure in a modest way. His instructions are well illustrated and I enjoy this book from cover to cover. Note: I especially like the "watery" flow of his painting. BJ Cook

This book is a treasure. If I could buy only one book on watercolor painting, this would be the book. Each chapter is a small gem of information simply expressed with wonderful accompanying pictures. The watercolors in the book are delicious to look at. You get to experience Mel Stabin's process and philosophy. The approach is clear and simple, wise and deep at the same time. The approach is inspiring and speaks to the deeper places inside us.
