The sad thing is Book 1, also written by Lupoff was really good. Books 2,4,5 were excellent as well. Book 3 was a little weak. But book 6 was terrible - it made little sense, diminished the role of all of the side characters dramatically. looked like he wrote it without reading what happened in 2-5
