In the sequel to The Mating Game, The Forever Game is an eye-opening provocative and sensual look at the varied approaches to the dating scene--if possessing charm, wit, good looks and success doesn't guarantee finding the perfect mate, what does? The second book in a two-part series, The Forever Game brings back three best friends from the nation's capital as they maneuver the dating scene. Each is searching for "the one" while running from all the broken hearts and drama they leave in their wake. Taika--beautiful, intelligent, and confident--has finally found her perfect man. But issues in the bedroom threaten to strain the relationship beyond repair. Vince is a hopeless romantic artist who sees the potential in every woman he dates, until he is painfully forced to admit failure with each one. And Trey saunters from one lustful encounter to another, casually going in and out of passing dalliances. But is his cavalier attitude just a way to escape the pain of the love of his life, who broke his heart? Then two mysterious women enter their lives, and suddenly the worlds of Trey, Vince and Taika collide. They must choose where their loyalties lie, and how much they are willing to give up in order to find lasting love.
THE FOREVER GAME is the sequel to Jonathan Luckett's The Mating Game and Erika, Vince and Trey are back with the same dilemma, unable to find that one true love. Living and working in the nation's capitol, this trio is the best of friends, there for each other through thick and thin. Trey, the suave and conceited divorce attorney, is a ladies man and no one is off limits. Unwilling to date just one, he has his pick of women and sees no shame in it. When he begins to have trouble on the job, his future is at stake and he goes to drastic measures to turn it all around. Vince is a motivational speaker and artist. He is a hopeless romantic and often rushes into relationships, which causes problems, mainly his broken heart. Erika is a physician and James is her steady companion. According to her, James has a problem in the bedroom, but he doesn't see it as a problem. However, Erika's past comes back to haunt her, and she must make a decision. Each is reeling from a failed relationship, some, years ago; they each utilize the past to make decisions for their future believing they have learned from their mistakes. When Raven, Giovanna and Amber enter their lives, all bets are off and the trio find their worlds turned upside down. This is a character-driven novel, no two are alike. There are many adjectives to describe their personalities: volatile, resilient, elusive and careless, just to name a few. Using these descriptors, you can understand the depth their personalities have on the story being told. The author provides enough intrigue for a page-turner without a predictable climax. Watching the characters come to grips with the issues, which ravaged their lives, was interesting and realistic. The friendship and the destruction of the friendship portrayed were thought-provoking and all consuming. THE FOREVER GAME is a wacky ride through the dating scene and the affects of friendship as a whole. Reviewed by Dawn R. Reeves of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers
