This is a condensed simplified version of the seven volumes masterpiece. Readers will be able to comprehensive understand the inventions and innovations from ancient China besides the famous gun-powder, compass, printing press. This is a mine of information for eye opening, not by stealing from Europe or America. On the other hand, Europeans tried hard to steal the secrets of silk and porcelain! China is always the world leader without awe and shock and is admired. Chinese traditions introduced by missionaries to the West caused French, American revolutions and the Enlightenment Movement. This shorter version may hook you into reading the large volume.

A great many of the important scientific discoveries made in China for the last 3000 years are included in this book. I knew about some of them but this inventory impressed me.

This is a superb and detailed list with explanations of Chinese inventions over the past 2,000 years. It is a summary of the 35-volume work by Prof. Joseph Needham. Though it is well written it is not easy reading because there is so much information, concisely expressed. Thus it makes an excellent reference book.

It gives readers an idea of the depth of the advanced scientific discoveries from ancient China. This is a fantastic book. It is like giving the world all the ancient Chinese secrets. I love it.
