Luanne's books rarely let me down and this one was the same! I loved it! I hate math but still loved the book. And I am thrilled to find out that there is another one that continues after this called The Deep Blue Sea for Beginners. I didn't know this when I got it and was thrilled to finish the story with Travis, Pell and the rest. I love it every time I see a book by Luanne on the shelves of the bookstores or at the library!
Loved it!

This book really took hold of me. I never had a sister -- a fact that's always made me feel a bit sad. I watch my girlfriends with their sisters, and, more often than not, I feel a twinge of envy. Luanne Rice's depiction of sisterly bonds, and how the past can powerfully impact the future was wonderful. She drew me into the complexities of the family saga with believable dynamics and emotion. Luanne's writing is always a treat. I recommend this book.
Complex sister issues

I think Luanne Rice gets better and better with each book. And since I think all of her earlier books are wonderful too, it's amazing to me. She can weave a complicated story so that you don't want to put the book down until you are finished. Having a sister myself, this story brought tears to my eyes several times! Can't wait for her next book to come out.

While I thought the beginning of the book was slow, Luanne Rice develops wonderful characters that you pull for over time... The story opens with the remnants of a family... and over the course of the story, you slowly watch them build their lives from the ashes of their old family. As any family knows whose been through tragedy, you are never the same. I was captivated by their family and how they struggled to move on. This was a great read, if you love Light of the Moon or Dance with Me... you will love this book. I can't wait for Deep Blue Sea for Beginners.
Fabulous Luanne Rice Novel

I loved this new Luanne Rice book! Reminds me of the earlier books set in a mythical CT beach town with in depth characters dealing with real issues. The bond of sisters was so movingly captured, it broke my heart that I don't have a sister! A great read, couldn't put it down.
