(Music Sales America). The ultimate compact reference book of pentatonic scales (five-note minor and major scales) and how to use them. Packed with over 400 riffs and examples. Also includes theory,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I had found myself playing the same pentatonic patterns/licks/etc over & over during blues/rock/country-rock/funk/etc solos and was stuck in a rut. This book got me out of the rut by showing how to play licks in different patterns and starting points. There are well over 500 licks in this book, many that I had never tried before. I highly recommend this book for lead guitar players who need some inspiration.
great simply laid out and varied examples

just picked up this book yesterday. ive been playing guitar for about 9 or 10 months, and of course ive learned pentatonics and scales. but, i know often alot of learners (such as myself) would feel they just dont know what 'to do' with them! thats where this book really helped. it leads you by example and lets you get into some pentatonic riffs to get your creative gears going. what i really enjoy too is the comments...sometimes it will explain how a certain riff is good to repeat back to back, or, how the following riff has a bluesy or funky feel to it. all great comments by the author. over all, wonderful little book for the intermediate guitarist looking to learn by example, and help him or her get going on some improvisation.
