funny and endearing, Tasha Tudor's gift to us in her senior years

The Corgiville Fair is one of the top 2-3 books of my childhood in the 1970s-- I adored it. I was excited to learn that there was another Corgiville tale written nearly 30 years later. The story is wonderful-- a rooster citizen of Corgiville disappears after the arrival of some disreputable raccoons (as the owner of pet hens, I know how realistic this idea is!). The story itself is much funnier than I expected, a real pleasure. Some will criticize this book because the illustrations of the 80+ year old Tasha Tudor are not as precise and clear as we are used to in her earlier works-- the Corgiville Fair's crisp paintings are very different. But anyone who loves Tasha Tudor's work, especially Corgiville Fair, should be grateful for this wonderful chance to revisit our old friends-- Corgis, bunnies, boggarts, chickens, goats, and even the disreputable raccoons. Thank you Tasha Tudor for allowing us to read one more Corgiville adventure (and I loved the happy ending).
Great artwork, great story

An entertaining story that appeals to all ages. Funny and engaging, it's a great children's story. However, the artwork is not as clear and focused as in Corgiville Fair. In spite of this, it is still a great book!
A must have for corgi lovers

Thought this was an extremely amusing book. She's got the corgi nature down pat. Have read it several times and think the artwork and story are great. It's sitting on my living room coffee table at this moment.
The Corgis are back and are as fine as ever.

How nice to have the residents of Corgiville back including Caleb, a fabulous rooster, and a clever crow. They are joined by some wily raccoons to bring a delightful story to us all.

This is a superb children's book. The artwork and the test are engaging and full of details. Young readers will be fascinated by it many times over. Well worth the price!
