cute, funny, & a little outdoor education too

I am a little less than half way through the book. I've been reading it with my six and eight-year old children. They both like it. The illustrations are good and appear about every other page or every three pages. I like the fact that it cracks silly jokes, which the kids appreciate, but it also teaches about being out in the woods. I got online here to look for others in the series, but this just came out. A second book is listed as coming out soon, but shows that it is appropriate reading for ages 9-12. The recommendation for ages 4-8, for this first book, is appropriate.
