Clint Adams,The Gunsmith, has just pulled into Evolution,Kansas. It wasn't much of a place, but maybe it would do to rest up a bit before continuing on his way. He enters the Hard Ace Saloon, and soon encounters a cocky young gunslinger,by the unlikely name of Roscoe Bookbinder.Dressed in fancy clothes and brandishing a pair of pearl-handled guns. He's taking himself far too seriously, and Clint knows his days are numbered if he doesn't wise up--and quickly. Clint breaks up a coulpe of lowlifes who are confronting and taunting Bookbinder, and prevents his pending demise. Reluctently,Clint takes Bookbinder under his wing and tries to teach him what it takes to "live by the gun" This leads to some interesting adventures for both the hunters and the hunted. It is a fair read, but not much in the way of good Old West parlance, historical connections or even unusual characters.
