This is our favorite Halloween book by far! Its nine short chapters recount the origins of Halloween, tell a few (spooky-but-not-too-spooky) Halloween legends, and explain the traditions of El Dia de los Muertos. There are also jokes, crafts and party ideas, and wonderful illustrations. It's a great book for elementary kids, and the grownups will enjoy it, too.

There are fun, scary pictures books for the little ones. Now here's a book of historical factoids about Halloween and its artifacts. Even more, party ideas are explored. A great book to have on hand in a children's library!

This is a great book for a read-aloud either for one child or a class. Chapter one ends with the question: "How did this strange celebration come to be?" The book continues with the evolution of its origins, celebrations in other parts of the world, and party ideas. Clever illustrations match the smart commentary.
