I used this journal 7 years ago after losing my 31 year old brother. I have since recommended it to anyone I know who has suffered a loss. In addition to grief counseling, I think this was the single most effective tool for beginning to put my life back together. I still have the completed journal and go back from time to time and realize how far I have come. I would highly recommend this wonderful book!
Great Book

Unlike the reader who found this book shallow, I found it really helpful in every way. Perhaps the shallowness was in the reader, not the book. I found this book really heped me to make sense of my experience with loss, and understand what I was going through. The lessons learned from the book - actually, what the book helped me learn about myself - have helped me grow and I continue to use and think about the things I've learned about myself and the loss of someone close to me. The book is as good as it gets when it comes to helping. Thanks to the author!

I lost my closest friend to breast cancer. After literally wanting to die myself ,because the grief was so overwhelming I had to do something. I found this book and immediately started working through my grief. I still miss Kim, but I have the tools to deal with my grief. it is a must for grieving people.
For anyone stunned by what loss feels like

This book was given to me soon after my mother died. Use it at your own pace because healing grief is not painless. However, it is wonderful at making you express your feelings, giving you something to chew on for a while. The book gave me the opportunity to say what I wanted to say to my mom before she died (I missed her last couple of days). It's cathartic to talk to your lost loved one through writing, so I recommend you give this book a try.
A book that can help when it feels like you've lost everythi

As a grief counselor, I've seen a lot of books about loss. But rarely have I seen a book that is so sensitive and accurate about the many feelings people experience when they lose someone close to them. The journal entries, prompting the reader to write about their feelings about the loss, are exactly the kind of thing I suggest that the people in my grief groups do. If you've lost someone you love, I can't recommend this book highly enough.
