A nice reference tool for the layman...

The Illustrated Bible Handbook is small, but filled with information. The colored illustrations and the sidebars make this book worthy of your library. Each of the sixty-six books of the Bible are covered, with an introduction, sidebars of interesting information, beautiful color pictures, and a summary. George W. Knight, author of The Illustrated Bible Handbook, has a pleasant style. His script and organization is appealing and less intimidating than many Bible handbooks that I have read. This is not an in-depth study tool that will appeal to a seasoned Bible Scholar; however, the average layman will enjoy The Illustrated Bible Handbook.
