Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi -- also called The Mahatma, or Great Soul -- was one of the world's most unusual and remarkable leaders. He led nonviolent movements for social justice and human rights in South Africa. In his native India, Gandhi led successful movements to break free from the ruling British and reform an ancient class system. Through his efforts, nonviolent action for social change became an effective political tactic -- and an enduring spiritual philosophy embraced by millions. His words and deeds greatly influenced new generations of political and religious leaders worldwide.
The book The Importance of Mohandas Gandhi was a very educating book on a person who changed the way of the world. I loved all thing factual information that was given throughout the book. It gave information in sections about his philosophy and morals. It also gave information about the people that appeared and helped him accomplish his goals. Although the book was very well written and gave good and supported details towards Mohandas's life and what occurred in it, the book overall was very busy and gave some unnecessary information that would not help the reader to understand every aspect of Mohandas Gandhi. Overall the book is a great source of information on Mohandas Gandhi and does an astounding job in explaining every event and individual that played a role in his life.
