The Jerusalem Windows is a stunningly beautiful book on Chagall’s Jerusalem Windows. The book contains a biography, a thorough description of his creative process with full page color photographs of each stage, as well as full color detailed photographs of the finished windows. To make it extra special, it contains two lithographs Chagall made just for this book. Everything I could have wanted to aid me in studying this artwork as I reproduce them in needlepoint.

The title of the review pretty much tells the whole story. The quality of image reproduction is quite good. Of the most interest is the sequence of early drawings, prototypes, and preliminary paintings and collages resulting in the final windows. A fine companion to the experience of seeing (and photographing) the windows in Jerusalem.
