The first female president takes her vow . . . Silver ?Book of the Year? award winner from Foreord Magazine Daryn Austin, political princess and daughter of a Georgia governor, has always dreamed of being the first female president of the United States. In November, she and Craig Parker, an independent, win the national election and Daryn moves into the Vice Presidential mansion. On June 6, however, destiny propels Daryn to the pinnacle of power when Parker dies unexpectedly. She now controls the White House, but she must tread carefully if she is to win the next election and implement real change in American society. To help her through political and legal quagmires, she hires Paul Santana, the brilliant lawyer she had loved while attending law school. When she nominates Paul to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court, however, her grand plans begin to crumble. After being influenced by another justice, the man she loves begins to love God, a rival with whom Daryn cannot compete. Daryn?s obsession with the changed Paul leads to an emotionally charged battle of wills from which neither can escape unscathed.
Always well written, Angela Hunt is an amazing writer who honors God with her talent. Riveting...good research and awesome story lines
Fairness, Justice, & Mercy

Characters I loved, hated, and envied. Ambitious Daryn Austin stops at nothing to achieve the highest position of power. Paul Santana's world of contentment is rocked when Daryn calls him to Washington. His choices lead him to a face-to-face discovery of fairness and justice, both of which he is deserving of. His heart leads him to a throne of mercy, which we are none deserving of. Angela Hunt has produced another winner!
Wonderful!

As a lawyer and government/history buff, I found this book intriguing. As a writer and a Christian, I was delighted by how well written it is. Not all Christian fiction is of this high quality. I especially applaud Ms. Hunt's great job of handling the lead characters' sin realistically/honestly without dragging us through the mud. An entertaining, uplifting, and thought-provoking read.
Contemporary political fiction

Imagine a woman serving as President of the United States. Angela Hunt has researched her topic well--the political scene in Washington--a refreshing change from Christian fiction that usually takes place in the "wild west" days. Readers will enjoy a great story of mystery, scandal, God's grace and forgiveness and also a "behind the scenes" look at political life in Washington.
