Book Overview

Six years after her courageous testimony helped put her husband on death row for a string of gruesome murders, Leigh Wren has almost succeeded in putting her past to rest. ?She has moved from the West Coast to North Carolina with her young son, adopting a new name and a new life.? But the world that she has created for herself is shattered when the father of one of her ex-husband's victims begins stalking her, then confronts her late one night. ?In the days that follow, he exposes Leigh, in newspapers and on television, to a startled North Carolina community. ?And just as her marriage to Randall Mosley, a man who became known to the world as a deviant serial killer, is brought back to light, a more deadly game of cat and mouse ensues. ????? A new killer has emerged, one whose methods are frighteningly similar to those used by Mosley, who is awaiting execution thousands of miles away. ?Leigh and her son appear to be in the assailant's scope, and it becomes clear that he is more than a copycat killer-his targets are all tied to Leigh's former life.? With the clock ticking down and the victims of a new killer mounting, Leigh is forced to probe the darkest corridors of her past to protect her life and her son's. ?She must also confront her own feelings of responsibility: Leigh has always professed her ignorance, but how complicit was she in her husband's horrific murder spree, as it was taking place? ????? From a major new voice in suspense, The Killer's Wife is a story driven by psychological insight and harrowing revelations, asking how well you can ever really know the person sleeping beside you.

Interesting Concept and a Very Fast Paced Entertaining Story

Bill Floyd's debut novel certainly leaves the reader hoping he'll write a second. The Killer's Wife although a little predictable at the end is very well written and takes the reader into the mindset of what it would be like to initially discover someone you love and thought you knew was in fact nothing like the person you thought they were and is in fact pure evil. The reader is also taken on a journey what it is like to try and reinvent yourself away from the public eye and raise a child to young to remember but full of questions. The novel is well researched as far as the death penalty and the reader also gets to read what someone about to die through capital punishment really acts like, unlike what we see in the movies. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and hope Floyd will write many more up to this standard. In the Killer's Wife Leigh Wren thinks she has put her life back on track after six years ago finding out, calling the police and testifying against one of America's worst serial killers who incidentally was also her husband. With her husband on death row, she has reinvented her identity and career, Hayden her son is now seven and living happily as a normal child. One night at the supermarket however her past catches up with her when she is verbally and minorly physically abused by the father of one her husband's victims. He wants vengeance for his daughter never believing she was innocent and unaware of her husband's actions. He tells her he will ruin her life and expose her and does just that. Soon everyone in town knows who she is and if this isn't bad enough it seems someone is following in her husband's footsteps and they want her to know all about it. Is she safe? Is Hayden safe? Is her psychopathic husband behind it all? Read and find out!

Creepy, suspenseful and fun - all at the same time.

Great book! I'm reading it on the commuter bus and this book actually makes me wish my commute were longer! Fast-paced action but with great use of flash backs to add depth to the characters. The descriptions of the setting and background characters is spot on and sometimes laugh out loud funny. The author has obviously lived in the 'burbs. Can't wait to read more from this guy.

Great debut

I tend to try to read debut authors in the hope of finding a unique book that differs from the "James Patterson" type of novels that get a lot of hype, but usually fall short when you invest the time to read them. This book is great from page 1. Just like the previous reviewer, I started the book and was finished before I knew it. The concept is original and the writing is very well done. Everyone I have shared the synopsis with has been interested in the book and several have since gotten a copy of the book. If you are interested enough in the book to read this review, do yourself a favor and GET THIS BOOK!!

Gripping

wonderful Debut, turned page one and before I knew it I was finished. Absolutely gripping, worth picking up. Can't wait for his second
