What's fascinating here is the disparity in reactions between several readers. This is an incredibly sophisticated and complicated book. Some readers "got it" and others missed it. Sally and the other reader who filed negative reviews, if you notice, didn't detail what they critiqued. The book is full of allusions to other mysteries and sci-fi works, from "Star Trek" to "Cemetery of Angels." I have a feeling this book --- which seems to be selling well --- will continue to be on the shelves and continue to provoke debate among readers. Love it or hate it? I loved it!

Obviously, I got more out of this than Sally. I loved it. Very disturbing. Highly recommended. Now if I can only find more books by McFedries....

It might not have been Sally's cup of tea but this book held me. If you want something to creep you out, grab this puppy!
