Meet Chancey. From the good looks and a charm that would make even a Christian girl fall to her knees, to the flamboyant lifestyle, thanks to his boy Rondell, one of the most successful drug dealers... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book gave me many of large lumps in my throat. Why couldn't the author give the book a better ending? Why is it that the people that want to change and do better for themselves always never make it??? The author did a wonderful job of writting this book, at times I wanted to tell Chancey to follow his heart and do what's now, since tomorrow is never promised. I would recommend this book to everyone living that fast cash life. One other thing why did the author wait so long to introduce Tia into the story I was half way through the book before they even got to talk to one another. Anyway GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!

It gets no realer than this when it comes to street novels. Gangsta's ain't glorified, fancy cars ain't driven by every character, and it ain't a happy ending. This is a real book with real people living in the cold hood of L.A. I wish somebody would of warned me about the ending. I wasn't prepared for that at all. My mouth is still wide open! This is a MUST READ!
This Story Was Written by a First-Time Author???

This book reads like a champ. Like it was created by a author with tons of experience. It tells of a young man struggling to deal with his drug addicted mother and eager to be grown sister. The main character, Chancey Walker is all that on the outside. A pretty boy in deed with a lot of dough from drug sells. Tomika wants him for all the wrong reasons, but he wants a girl name Tia for all the right reasons. This is where the drama sets in! This book introduces hard-hitting characters that you WILL fall in love with. After reading through some of the reviews, I see a lot of people mention Ronnie, the one who "made" Chancey. But the character that stuck with me most would have to be Officer Woods. He didn't give up on Chancey. He knew he was selling drugs-even caught him with drugs. Still he chose to give him advice instead of a drug sentence. VERY POWERFUL! Officer Woods saw himself in Chancey, which made him have this unexplainable love for him. Chancey identified with it and tried to change his life. This is where the reader wants to reach out and grab Chancey! It all starts to go wrong when Ronnie learns of Chancey's decision to go straight. Ronnie's a few years older than Chancey and believes that the "world" and everything in it is his. He's as equally as handsome as Chancey and doesn't dare to get caught up with a "bitch". He's also not affraid of Officer Woods and challenges him to try and stop his money. If there is anything standing in the way of his money, they had better watch out. WATCH OUT TIA!!!!! All I gotta say is whoa! This book is suspenseful, full of drama, BAD LANGUAGE, a real tear-jerker, and highly recommended.

I love how this book was written slightly different from the norm. It's almost like a soap opra how it jumps from scene to scene and gives you just enough to hold you over until the next scene. I know I lost everybody. Last Bad Decision is a MUST READ. I would agree that anyone who has a heart WILL shed a tear or two. But hey, that just goes to show you what good writing is capable of doing. Paula Edwards does a excellent job introducing her characters---I'm with the reviewer who was drawn to Rondell. He was my favorite in this only because you knew what he was about from day. He wasn't a fake. He was about money and that was the bottom line. Chancey was more like a follower. I think people fell in love with him because he wanted to follow someone that was worth following for a change which brings me to talk about Officer Woods. Officer Woods took an interest in Chancey as if he was his own son. I would have to admit that I didn't cry when Chancey died at the end, but I COULDN't stop crying when Officer Woods didn't arrest him when he got pulled over. This whole book was touching and heartbreaking at the same time, a true wakeup call for our youth.
An overall 10 stars if there was such a thing...

Chancey Walker appears to possess all the right pieces to life's puzzle. Good looks, charm, youth, confidence and good social ties are just a few of his evident qualities. Due to his long lasting friendship with Rondell, the local drug dealer, Chancey's thirst for the finer things in life are quenched when he becomes Rondell's right-hand man, ultimately becoming labeled as Rondell's spitting image: flamboyant and arrogant. What many don't know is that Chancey is the total opposite of Rondell. He's humble, down to earth, and possesses a caring attitude once you get to know him. Once you get to know him, you'll also learn he's totally focused on the upbringing and care of his gullible, teenaged sister Setchi, and the promise he makes to his best friend Kaylin to not give in to the hustle of the streets. Most importantly, you'll learn that Chancey's heart belongs to a girl named Tia, his high school sweetheart and first love. He pursues her continuously with her refusing him continuously until fate brings them together at the neighborhood hangout spot. Finally, a love like no other is created. And that love becomes questioned and endangered when Rondell's hostility towards her surfaces regularly. Chancey knows how Rondell openly feels about Tia, and decides to see her secretly in order to keep her safe from harm. And as their relationship grows, she showers Chancey with understanding, support, and undisputed love - something he never got from anyone before, not even his crack-addicted, abusive mother. Soon, all of Tia's encouraging words and thoughtful gestures take its toll on Chancey. His loyalty to Rondell starts to slowly fade as he desires more of a legit lifestyle. The thought of Rondell loosing his side-kicking money maker leaves a bad taste in his mouth, which brings on a flurry of problems that ultimately result to the worst tragedy of its kind. The Last Bad Decision is a MUST READ. I've never been so touched by a novel before. This story touches on everything from teenaged pregnancy to irresponsible mothers aside from its powerful message of It Takes a Strong Mind to Survive. Three thumbs up for this one!
