I bought this book as a gift for a friend but when I took it home and read it, I couldn't bear to part with it so I went back and bought another copy. Now, a year later, I've discovered the book again, in a less frenzied time.Reading it is like returning to the comfort of childhood when stories were read to us in soothing tones. This book came to me as a gift from my sister. I receive alot of books from my sister (some still sitting unread) but this one caught my eye right away. The rich colors and the intimate illustrations propelled me from one page to the next. The pop-up syle of surprises found throughout made this book not only interesting reading, but play as well. I enjoyed this book so much I am going to have a party, provide each of the guest with a book and the theme of the party will unfold as we cook up some of the recipes, sip the tea, discuss our journey. And if we have time we can discuss our own legends. This book depicted the wonder, the joy, the fear, adventure and the rewards of transformation. I will pass this book on many times!
