"The Light Behind the Star" is a touching book with truth, honesty, compassion, love and sincerity. The author Dave Johnson describes what life is like as a Police Officer, Father, friend and husband. The first chaper "Death of a Family" will grip your heart and grab your attention as this man witnesses the true death of a family. I used many kleenex's as I read each chapter. The love this man has for his family and his God is both humbling and encouraging. In this book he addresses the different events that happen in every day life, and how they effect him and the people he loves. Dave Johnson recflects on his love for his own family and remembers special times in this book. "The Light Behind The Star" gives us an insight into a cop's life both while wearing the badge and while being at home. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite books and the author's descriptions, thoughts and feelings are clearly stated. The author is also my father, and I am proud of him, his work, his book and the honesty he has put into this book. I lived so many of the stories with him, but the book still gripped my heart and caught my tears as the gentleness of a cop reveals the honesty of a God fearing father, friend and husband.
