I love the photographs and the creative story. The cutest picture is of the little duck getting dried off by a blow drier! I think this is wonderful quality and very interesting for children. Kathy in Las Vegas

I love this book! I remembered it from my childhood, and bought it to share with a younger family member, so they could enjoy it too. Who can resist the image of the beautiful, fluffy, baby duck? Gorgeous and beautiful photos throughout the book and a cute story! Shows all the growing stages of the duck! Would reccomend this book for any child!
An old favorite

This was my second favorite book as a child--second only to "The Little Lamb" from the same series. As I was reading some of the other reviews I saw that some got the impression that this book tells kids that its a good idea to take home perfectly healthy, happy wild animals to keep as pets. I must say that as a child (and also now as a 27 year old adult) I never got that idea from this book. Although I did help save a batch of baby sea turtles from going from their nest into a busy street instead of the ocean. The beautiful photographs and charming stories in these books helped me understand how animals live in the real world (as opposed to cartoon books) and that, even as a child, I could do things to help animals. Children are smart and they will likely realize that it is not a good idea to dry off a duckling with a hair dryer; parents will likely realize that wild animals shouldn't be taken from their natural environment to become pets--I understood these things, even after reading this book. This really is a lovely series for children and I highly recommend it.
Awwwww....this book is so cute!

This book manages to teach your child a little about ducks and also has a bit of character development in it. The story is illustrated with photographs of the little duck, named Henry. (awww)Henry is found as an egg and brought home by a boy. You get to see Henry pop out of the egg and see what he eats and what he does with his first swim. Henry follows the boy around the farm and sits in grandpas lap and reads the paper. Hes getting bigger all the time. Henry gets lonely after the boy goes back to school....and I know the suspense is killing you---so you'll just have to get the book for yourself, won't you???
great imagination of the character!

What a great way to express the way that this little character explores and learns about the world. Loved the pictures and the way it was written. Loved every minute of it!!
