Heartfelt mystery

This is a complex and deeply felt tale that uses the mystery form brilliantly. I am great fan of Simon's books.
Moses Wine saga in our time

I have been following Roger L. Simon since the publication of THE BIG FIX in the Seventies when his character was the well-known hippie detective played by Dreyfuss in the movie. That was fun, but this book, written in the late Nineties, is much deeper, finer. The late Ross MacDonald said Simon would be the next great PI writer and his was right.
Brilliant, better than the author's The Big Fix

I think this is the best Moses Wine novel.

no gimmickry herre--just good characterization and the best voice in private eyes since Parker...
