My son, age 10, really enjoys this series. The books should be read in order to not spoil the ending of another. My son didn't like to read till he found this series, now he is addicted. It is a great and fun series.

My kids are 6 and 4, boy and girl, respectively. The Jack Russell books are their favorite for bedtime family read-aloud books. The Lying Postman was no exception. They were a bit stressed when the dog got kicked. But they love every minute of these stories and we have to send them to bed every night while they are begging to read one more chapter.
