Use this book for more than quilting

While this book was written for quilters, it's a great design resource for any needle artist. The author defines and explains terms such as depth, iridescence, luminosity, luster, opalescence, and transparency. She explains design and perspective for the quilter, but what are fibers if not unwoven cloth? Even if you have no ambition to design and slavishly follow the designer's color recommendations, I'd suggest acquiring this book. It will help you understand why a designer made certain color choices and what effect he/she was attempting to achieve.

This book is a must-have for any serious quilter. It contains the most comprehensive information on all aspects of color as they relate specifically to quilting, with marvelous full color illustrations that amplify the already-excellent written material. The color photos of magnificent quilts are in themselves worth the price of the book. This is a book to be consulted over and over-- a complete reference manual.
