A very special wedding gown leads two women to find their perfect match in these two classic stories from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber The dress was made many years ago, and it came with a promise: The First Man You Meet... Shelly Hansen was horrified when her great-aunt's wedding dress arrived--because, according to family legend, she was destined to marry the next man she met. So when she tripped on an escalator and fell into Mark Brady's arms, she told him--and herself--that she wasn't interested in marriage. But then she started seeing him everywhere... Coincidence? The Man You'll Marry After her own wedding, Shelly sends her best friend, Jill Morrison, the dress--which is delivered to Jill's hotel in Hawaii. But at least the man Jill sat beside on the plane--gorgeous grouch Jordan Wilcox--can't be the man in question, can he? She met him before she got the dress
I read for entertainment and joy. This book was a fairytale and made me feel so good. It was good clean reading.

If you're lucky

If you're lucky you have a treasure or a dress like this to pass on to family or friends. These 2 stories concern a dress that is magical, in that when it is received, the next man you'll meet will be your husband. Why there is only one title on the cover I don't know, both titles and descriptions are given on the back, but that you cannot see if you rely on getting your books online, because it certainly isn`t intimated in the editorial review that these are previously published works. I hope it is not a method to `hide' that fact. Debbie Macomber states, the first thing in her interesting introduction that they are. I hope all readers of the many books in this genre know they need to investigate copy write dates inside if they do not remember titles, at least these titles weren't changed which is sometimes done - that is just a heads up for readers who are not aware of this already. With that said, these are 2 of Macomber's most charming stories, a bit different than the normal girl meets guy romantic plot - one with more than a little magic. The characters also create a smile, they are a bit different, an aunt who thinks about her wedding dress to send because she watches a TV show where a man has a Scottish terrier and the dress was made by a Scottish seamstress, if you are fortunate you also have `loopy' relatives like this. The dress figures in both stories; first being sent to a niece and then in the next given to the best friend. Neither lady can picture herself being married to the man she meets, but love, thank heavens wins out above all. It's nice to have a romance with a bit of a giggle and a smile; with pleasant characters. This book does just what it is supposed to do, entertain you and give some pleasant reading.
