When I first picked up the book I couldn't wait to get to the next "chapter" to read the next topic. I found them to be both entertaining, enlightening, and true "flashbacks", which also made it fun. I love her way of telling stories with all the touches of reality and everyday life. Thank you for sharing your life, your thoughts and your many experiences. Debbie B.
I couldn't put it down!

The front cover caught my eye first and the title made me very curious. After I opened up the book and started reading the first few pages, I found myself sitting there all night reading essay after essay. I scanned the pages between and thought "what a great idea to ask personal questions that we can answer to put it all into perspective for us personally", which I am doing currently. Sandra shares so many great insights to life (some in a very humorous fashion) and I am learning a lot about myself and am growing in my walk with the Lord because of the open questions that cause me to read the scriptures that relate to the topic. It's awesome and I recommend this book to everyone who wants to look deeper into their current world and find what has brought them to where they are today as they are sitting in their pews.
Invading the Culture with a Relevant Jesus

Finally, a book that allows my past (and current) love for Woody Allen, the Beatles, the Velveteen Rabbit, Dr.Seuss, Green Acres, Bob Dylan and Miss Piggy to interplay with my love for Christ! The author hasn't just written a book in which she tries to spiritualize anything and everything from the 50's, 60's and 70's, but she's written a down-to-earth, relevant devotional that will help the seeker, neophyte or mature Christian to allow their faith to influence their culture and vice versa without compromising that faith. I love the simple yet thought-provoking questions that follow each chapter. They are perfect for personal reflection or for a group of friends who are sipping green tea and spinning Electric Ladyland on vinyl. Although the book is certainly geared towards those who lived through these dusty decades, the message of finding relevance in all of God's creation is for all generations. I'll sum it all up with a simple line: I am a Christian, GOO GOO G'JOOB!
