Oh Boy! Or Girl! Just had a baby? Relax, lie down and breathe a sigh of relief. The Mother of All Baby Books has arrived! From the author of The Mother of All Pregnancy Books, comes the guide that all... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought The Mother of All Baby Books before our son was born, and found it helpful from the start. After our son arrived, I found myself checking in with Ann whenever I had questions about his health, or even my own recovery. Extremely reassuring was Douglas' more laid back approach to child development in the first year than that of the What To Expect.. series (e.g. when your child has not sat up on his or her own by 5 months, you do not need to rush to the doctor..). I highly recommend this book whether you're expecting or have just begun your journey as a parent.
A MUST HAVE FOR ALL SOON TO BE MOTHERS!

This book is the only baby book you'll need to buy. It is so in depth and easy to understand. It has a lot of tables and "checklists" that are very interesting. I bought this book after I bought The Mother of All Pregnancy Books, which was awesome too. I like it so much better than the 'What to Expect' series because you can read this book straight through. After finishing this book, I wanted to buy The Mother of All Toddler Books...which is only available in the Canadian edition so far. But I think it will be available in the US soon. Do yourself a favor and buy it now!

This is the best baby book on the market. Ann is humourous and straight to the point, without giving any preachy options. A must if you are a Canadian parent. I bought it for my newly pregnant sister!
A Handy Reference For The First Year

What an enjoyable and informative book!! After Reading "The Mother of all Pregnancy Books' and finding it both humorous and informative, I rushed out to purchase "The Mother of All Baby Books." I read it cover to cover within a week and have referred to it at LEAST once a week since then. The chapter on breast-feeding is fantastic. The information on baby's health has been consistently valuable to me, a first time mom, who has been checking for every sign of illness. It helped me quite a bit to have a realistic understanding of the physical limitations of my post-pregnancy body and an idea of what a normal recovery period was. I could go on and on about the multitudes of useful information in this book. However I feel that some of the most valuable portions of this book are the (often humourous) anecdotes that helped me and my husband feel validated in our concerns and less isolated in our experiences. Let's face it, not many of us can call another parent of a feverish 6 month old at 3 am, but we can refer to Ann Douglas's book and find out not only when to be concerned enough to head to the emergency room, but also be consoled that other parents have been through the same thing.

Loved the Mother of All Pregnancy Books and I loved The Mother of All Baby Books. It got me through many a time... what is thrush, how to cope with teething, what the heck my body was doing after giving birth... all sorts of things I wish my mom had told me!I also really like the fact that the author is Canadian and puts it in Canadian lingo. I found the book very reassuring, funny and clear. All and all... a book to ask for at your shower!
