Good Mystery Spoof
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 20 years ago
Leonard Stein's first novel is a sophisticated, comedic mystery spoof. His characters are interesting, especially Inspector Biton, an Israeli cop, whose hold on his job is tenuous and dependent on his solving a series of murders. His Jewish mother considers him to be a failure because he is not a lawyer like his brother. The scenes of modern Israel should be of interest to Americans, who only think it is a place where bombs explode. The action is fast paced and the conclusion unusual. All in all a good read.
