Book Overview

RESURRECTION The hungry dead have risen. They shamble down the street. They hide in back yards, car lots, shopping malls. They devour neighbors, dogs and police officers. And they are here to stay. The real question is, what are you going to do about it? How will you survive? HOW WILL THE WORLD CHANGE WHEN THE DEAD BEGIN TO RISE? Stoker-award-winning author Christopher Golden has assembled an original anthology of never-before-published zombie stories from an eclectic array of today's hottest writers. Inside there are stories about military might in the wake of an outbreak, survival in a wasted wasteland, the ardor of falling in love with a zombie, and a family outing at the circus. Here is a collection of new views on death and resurrection. With stories from Joe Hill, John Connolly, Max Brooks, Kelley Armstrong, Tad Williams, David Wellington, David Liss, Aimee Bender, Jonathan Maberry, and many others, this is a wildly diverse and entertaining collection...the Last Word on the New Dead.

It was ok

My favorite story was what Maisie knew

Great collection of stories

This is an outstanding book of Zombie short stories. Perhaps the best zombie short story collection I have read. The standout stories in my opinion are: Joe Hill's Twitter story The Wind Cries Mary by Brian Keene Family Business by Maberry was great Ghost Trap by Rick Hautala was awesome of course Max Brooks little teaser of a story was great too. A top notch collection and worth every penny.

Easy to be Impressed!

With an all-star cast, "The New Dead: A Zombie Anthology" compiles the work of several bestselling authors with nineteen all new and intriguing tales. Each story offers a unique window into the frightening and unimaginable world of zombies, beginning with John Connolly's "Lazarus". Connolly puts his own chilling spin on the popular biblical tale and readers are swept back in time to the creation of zombies. Featuring shocking and often gruesome pieces by David Liss ("What Maisie Knew), Holly Newstein ("Delice") and Jonathan Maberry ("Family Business") to name a few; it is difficult not to be impressed by this fresh approach and clearly well thought out body of work.

Zombies: The 21st Century Monster

Recently I attended a reading with three authors from the book at a local Barnes & Noble in NYC and the stories just jumped right off the page at me. These stories are sure to intrigue even if you are not traditionally interested in sci-fi stories or the zombie genre. I am a high school English teacher, and I think students as well as adults will love this book. Highly recommended!!!

Excellent across a variety of premises

From an in-the-head account of the Biblical Lazarus to a captured suvivors jail turned haven or an entire story written in prose. I've ripped my way through this anthology eagerly awaiting the next story. Appropriate for anyone who appreciates a well written story not just horror/sci-fi lovers.
