Second maybe third time to read since 2000. Yeah, it's good.

I lived in the Arkansas Ozarks for 50 years near Fayetteville. I now live in the Arkansas Ouchitas north of Mena. I love this book has connections in both areas.
The profanity does not add quality nor personality to an otherwise good read.
WOW

If you like Ludlum's style or any number of the popular suspense writers; you will definitely enjoy this story. This book is 10 years old but could easily have been written yesterday. Such is the condition of our world as we arise each morning. The possibilities have certainly not changed in the past decade. In fact, we are indeed, much closer to this story line than many would like to believe. Hold on to your easy chair and don't put this one down 'til you've finished. Surprisingly, good!
New Revised Version

I just finished reading this new edition of The New Madrid Run (printed May 2005). The original version was good, but this one is spectacular. I could not put the book down. The dialogue and prose are greatly improved, it flows easier and there is much more detail to the characters and situations. I am already casting the parts in my mind when it gets made into a movie. WAKE UP HOLLYWOOD!!! We have an exciting fast moving and possible tale here, that entertains and makes you think as well. I wouldn't feel ripped off paying money to see this as a film, like I do so many others. I hope Michael Reisig retains some control over the story line and content when they do come knocking on his door. It would be a shame to change a thing. In the mean time it is a great read, but expect to ignore your life for the duration.
Thouroughly Enjoyed The Book

This book held my attention from the very beginning of the story. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for what would happen next. I put myself in the book as I was reading and found that the possibility of the diaster that happened was very probable. Realizing this made the book much more real. What would we do if this happened and how would we prepare ourself for the event that all that we knew was gone. The book made me do a lot of thinking about what could happen. I could not put this book down until it was finished, then wanted more. Highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great story.

The only book I ever read that mesmerized me, hypnotized me, and captivated from page one! Find a place where you can grip the seat and you will read this book from one end to the other, non-stop!I also met the author, Michael Reisig and found him to be a lovely yet "regular-guy" type person. If done properly, this book has the potential to become the motion picture of the year!
Quite simply, the best adventure novel I have read in years

This is a high adventure story that could (and may) happen! A story of a castastrophic occurance that is plausable and even predicted by some scientists due to an alignment of the planets in the near future, this book details with amazing clarity the struggle of survival by a small group of people who banded together to travel to a safe haven where they can start their lives over. The book will hold your interest. In fact, you may find, like me, that you will probably lose some sleep because you just can't put it down! The story had me envisioning every situation as it unfolded and I constantly had to " find out what happened" before I could put it down. This is a "must read" book that screams to be made into a movie...
