With a body as solid as his reputation, private investigator Drey St. John never dreamed helping the Braddocks discover the truth behind their father's fatal crash would lead to his own mother's shocking confession: Senator Braddock was Drey's biological father. Determined to solve the case, Drey enlisted all-work-and-no-play Charlene Anderson's help. But the more time he spent with the beautiful forensic scientist, the more he realized their sharp banter fronted a simmering mutual attraction that wouldn't be denied. Charlene's career left no time for exotic playboys. Then she found herself under Drey's roof, in need of his protection--and a victim of his seductive charms. But when the late senator's secrets--and Drey's true identity--were uncovered, would Drey face the betrayals in his past, and his future as a Braddock, with Charlene by his side?
I totally enjoyed Brenda Jackson book the object of his Protection. It was thrilling, exciting and on the edge of your feet, because you can't wait to find out what happen next. I had a wonderful time reading this book and hope to get some more in the future.

Drey St. John has just been delivered a major blow. His mother has just told him that the man he has considered his mentor (and whose murder case he is trying to solve) is his biological father. Now more than ever, Drey wants to find out who is responsible for the Senator's death and to make sure that his mother had no knowledge about it. Charlene Anderson is a forensic scientist who has not had time for a relationship. Besides, no man wants an old virgin anyway. Charlene and Drey have had a working relationship for the past few years. But when Charlene's life is put in danger due to the fact she was trying to help Drey, that relationship becomes a lot of pleasure and just the right amount of business to keep Charlene safe. Brenda Jackson always does a wonderful job pulling you into her stories. Her books just seem to flow, which makes them very readable. The Object of His Protection is the culminating story of the Braddock series. Mrs. Jackson did an excellent job of tying up lose ends and giving the series some closure. I really enjoyed this book! Mrs. Jackson is my favorite author. I've been reading her books for a long time and have never been disappointed. She aims from all angles of life and experiences and always ends up right on point! She always gives her readers her best and tells it like it is, literally! I will not give anything away in this book, but if you haven't read any of her books by now, you don't know what you're missing. Go get every single Brenda Jackson book right now! You won't be able to put them down. I've read some of mine twice. She is the queen of fiction and romance!I don't think there is anyone on her level!

I liked this closing chapter of the 4-book series. I found Drey to be unbelieveably romantic and masculine. I really like male characters that invoke that type of feeling when I read their story. I am sick of the virgin female leads though. But Brenda always delivers. You'll enjoy it as well!

This is the final book of this series and it ends with a bang. Drey and Charlene are one hot couple when they both stop fighting their feelings. The person the family least expected is revealed to be the one who murdered their father and why he did it plus it is also revealed the identity of a secret son and who he is. This was a great ending for the Secret Son Series.
