By: John Camden Hotten, Pub. 1874, Reprinted 2020, 604 pages, Index, ISBN #0-89308-178-7. This book is considered to be one of the most important sources that a researcher can use when researching... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a microfilm copy in appearance and I bought the hard cover due to heavy usage. While it has every page from the original publication, the image of each page takes up 2/3 of the new page. Its excellent because the images are cover to cover of the original pages that were included in the original book. That means it includes the index too, no pages omitted like in other reprints that you sometimes find. If you need glasses to read, this may not be the best copy. Use a magnifying glass/screen. The text is small and a handful of pages are damaged microfilm so it has black spots over the text. It prevents you from reading parts of that page. Only one or two pages have larger damages that I've seen. Some library genealogy sections carry this book and it is found online for free but be careful which source online you use. Make sure it's a reputable source if you are looking for documented evidence to trace a line for memberships etc. The size of the book is 9.5 in x 6 3/8 so the image is about 2/3 the size. Other than the handful of damaged microfilm pages and the size of the images on the page, this is an excellent copy. Recommend this book over other reprints due to cover to cover copies of entire book. Hope this helps! Happy hunting! This book is from the Great Britain Public Records Office.
