This book is a serious classic in evaluating Asia Pacific in the Asia four little dragons miracle and their common factors. This is book a sister companion with the PBS program. It covers the American presence in the region in 19th century and 20th. It looks like the common factor is the ethics of Confucianism of family value for the successful DNA. This booming region is current American involvement and focus with Hilary proclaimed of Asia return in freedom of navigation and a democratic alliance against China perceived threat.
This book offers a good historic background for a current regional situation understanding of war and peace.
