I really enjoyed this book. I enjoy almost all ghost stories especially the ones that claim to be true. I found the story to be exciting and frightening. I also enjoyed the ending and how it took into account the very real possibility of poltergeist type activity where a haunting centers around a specific human agent. It was a good read.
Very enlightening - yet terrifying!

The haunting of Doretta Johnson is one of the most fear inciting stories I have ever read. I find myself pondering the family's situation, wondering 'what if.' I came to a point while I was reading this description of Doretta's experiences where I refused to read the book if I was alone. That's not the norm around here. I have been out on paranormal investigations, and yet I could not read that book alone. I highly recommend this book - to anyone interested in the paranormal.
Absolutely Terrifying!!!

Doretta Johnson's protrayal of her experiences was absolutely mind-blowing. I had to stop reading the book for about a week because I was getting horrible nightmares. The things that happened to Ashley were terrible... I admire the Johnson's courage and applaud them for the strength. Especially Doretta Johnson. Please write another book!

Doretta Johnson's story was extrememly unnerving. It actually brought to light for my sister and I the paranormal activity that occurred in our home over a decade ago. The things she experienced made my sister and I remember the "weird" phenomena we now recognize as poltergeists and ghosts. Although her hauntings have not stopped, I applaude Doretta for having ALL the courage to keep on trying...she is a heroine.
By far the best book written about a true haunting!

The People in The Attic held my attention throughout the entire book! I could not put it down..in fact..I read it twice! It was indeed a frightening tale, even more frightening once the reader realizes it is non-fiction. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who researches, believes or disbelieves, or has had similar experiences with the paranormal. Definately the best book I have ever read. ::::::applause:::::: to the author for sharing her story. :
