The Phoenix Award of the Children's Literature Association, 1990-1994

The Phoenix Award is an award made by The Children's Literature Association that honors a book deserving special recognition for its high literary quality and is awarded to a book published 20 years earlier. The award encourages publishers to continue to make such books available and to suggest to readers that they hold dear those traits that have given such books universality and timelessness.
