More fun for adults

"The Popeye and Friends Knitting Book" is the second book of cartoon knits from Melinda Coss (the first being "The Disney Book of Knitting"), and once again she provides an assortment of patterns, aimed primarily at adults (males and females), that adults would not be too embarrassed to wear in public (I'm a 27 year old female and I would wear most of these items). This book contains 17 patterns for knitting jumpers, dresses and cardigans feature Popeye and his "friends". I should probably clear up the meaning of the word "friends" here. Although there are patterns for jumpers etc featuring Olive Oyl, Brutus and other characters who appeared in "Popeye" cartoons, here Popeye's friends also includes other characters owned by the King Features Syndicate, including Betty Boop, Dagwood, Hagar the Horrible, the Phantom and Ming the Merciless. This is an authorized pattern book and the designs really do look like the respective characters. This book is, including intarsia charts, making it very easy to use and is, in fact, the reason why I learned how to knit jumpers.
