This strange twist on alternative history tells the story of a nonreclusive Emily Dickinson and her relationship with Samuel Clemens while also positing a future wherby these figures have been remade as service androids. This is possibly Malzberg's finest and most unappreciated novels. While not as important as Galaxies or as timely as Beyond Apollo, Remaking Sigmund Freud is perhaps the more enjoyable read.
