Berlin, 1934. As Hitler grabs the reins of dictatorship in Germany, Klara Neumann-an aspiring psychiatric nurse and the youngest daughter of Erich Neumann, a highly reputed German rocket scientist-vows to do all in her power to shield her Jewish friends from increasing persecution by the Nazi police-state.

If discovered, she could compromise her father's prestigious new position on a German Army rocket weapons development team led by the world-renowned Dr. Wernher von Braun.

After the breakout of war in 1939, Klara joins a Berlin resistance group led by relatives of the anti-fascist Protestant theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Klara, her Jewish friends and resistance partners face constant danger of discovery, arrest and execution as ferocious Allied bombing devastates the city and Hitler turns to Klara's father and other rocket scientists to produce the deadly new V-2 ballistic missile that will hopefully save Germany from catastrophic defeat.

When the Soviet Army launches its final assault on Berlin in 1945, Klara's love of family and faith in God are put to the ultimate test. What will be the outcome as she confronts the full horrors of Nazi fanaticism, brutal Soviet reprisals, and fierce international competition to capture her father and exploit his V-2 expertise?
