Francis Carco (1886-1958) was a French author, poet, and dramatist, born Fran ois Carcopino-Tusoli in Noum a, New Caledonia. A prominent figure in early 20th-century French literature, Carco was known for his vivid depictions of bohemian life in Paris, particularly in the Montmartre district. His works often featured the street life and colorful characters of the city's underbelly, written in the Parisian argot. Carco's literary contributions spanned various genres, including novels, poetry, and art criticism. He was also a member of the prestigious Acad mie Goncourt from 1937 until his death in 1958. His notable works include "J sus-la-Caille" and "L'Homme traqu ," which earned him the Grand Prix du roman de l'Acad mie fran aise in 1922.
