A thoughtful and intelligent murder mystery - even minor characters had personality and came to life.
A great background and introduction to St. John's, Newfoundland post World War 11. The author writes beautifully and musically.

A well written and atmospheric story. Interesting insights into the postwar world and into the history and politics of Newfoundland. An excellent 2nd story in the Inspector Stride series; I only wish these books were more readily available in the UK. I found Undertow whilst on holiday in Newfoundland and managed to find The Rossiter File by searching the internet.
