In a world nearly identical to ours, the North won the Civil War, Ben and JLo got married, and everyone dresses well to attend the Grammys. Oh, and Russia never sold Alaska to the U.S. Instead, Alaska is a rough, beautiful country ruled by a famously eccentric royal family, including oldest daughter, Princess Alexandria, whose acid wit and bad case of insomnia have turned her into a tabloid darling, a palace problem, and overall. . . The Royal Pain Marine biologist Dr. Shel ("Never Sheldon") Rivers has a problem. Some princess expects him to wait on her, hand and dimpled foot. His boss is taken with the royal redhead--brunette, whatever, it's not like he keeps track of that stuff--and nobody realizes that he just wants to be left alone in his lab. All alone. All the time. Weekends, holidays. . .it's all good. Now here's Miss Royalpants, insisting that he escort her around the marine institute, explain what he's doing, kiss her until her toes curl. . .no, wait, that was his idea. She's not even apologetic about being born into a royal family Says it's his problem to overcome, not hers. Which leaves him with one option: to kiss her again. And again. And. . . So she's nothing like he expected. In fact, Dr. Rivers can see that this fantastic, exasperating woman has problems no princess should ever have to deal with. And he has an idea to help her get some much-needed sleep. Of course, it involves getting very, very tired beforehand, but if she's up to it, then so is he. . . In this delightfully madcap sequel to "The Royal Treatment, " the Baranov family is back and as unpredictable as ever, and a prickly princess and cranky Ph.D. are about to discover that love conquers attitude every time. . .

ROYAL HIT!!!!!

I know this book disappoints a lot of people but after having read Hello Gorgeous, I was vastly relieved. This book, although a little lacking in angst and action/conflict was fun breezy read. Any body that is a MJD fan will enjoy this book for its enthralling characters and quick-witted dialect. In my opinion this book is a ROYAL HIT and I would love to see a sequel that contains some of what it lacked. (Action wise)
A royal riot

MaryJanice Davidson continues the tales of the outrageous royal family the Baranov's of Alaska. Princess Alexandria needs to get away from it all. She is still having nightmares from the aborted kidnapping attempt on her younger brother. A goodwill trip to North Dakota to visit the local aquarium is just the thing she needs. But the head Marine Biologist isn't interested in escorting some spoiled princess around the center. Dr. Shel Rivers just wants to work in his lab. Doesn't have time for rich royalty. Alex isn't at all what he was expecting. She is smart, feisty and quick-witted and the sexiest thing he has ever scene. Shel is enchanted and determined to help sleep anyway he can. The Royal Pain is a laugh out loud good time. This isn't your normal straight-laced royalty. Alex and Shel literally burn up the sheets with their chemistry. But they also connect on a deeper level. I hope we hear more from this fun and sarcastic family soon.
Funny good read

Considerably better than aerage for the genre but not her best. Basicaly boy meets girl, boy hates girl, boy gets girl and happly ever after. What makes this book stand out are a number of hallirous scenes well writen characters and some good errotica.
humorous romantic fantasy

In the Kingdom of Alaska, Princess Alexandra Baranov has problems sleeping ever since family enemies tried to kill her father and abduct her youngest brother though she tried to intercede (see THE ROYAL TREATMENT). Now her midnight wanderings have become tabloid fodder and worry her family especially when she faints from a lack of sleep. In fact only her infant nephew enables her to sleep for a few hours for she is always on vigil to stop intruders from harming her family since the Devon incident. To get her out of the Sitka palace, the family ponders why not Minot so they send Alexandra to North Dakota on the pretense of furthering American-Alaskan relations. She reluctantly visits the North Dakota Institute for Sea Life where marine biologist Dr. Shel Rivers conducts research. Following a foot introduction, her Royal pain in the butt demands he waits on her when all he wants is to be left alone to do his work that is before he tries to shut her up with a kiss or two, which she returns. What lab work Shel asks himself as all he wants to do is to keep kissing her royal prettiness. No one does humorous romantic fantasy better than MaryJanice Davidson does. The Baranov sequel is a fabulous gender battle as Shel concludes that the royal pain is his bane. The opening intro summarizes the tale as Harry from When Harry Met Sally discusses having sex with someone named Sheldon and never slows down until the final kiss. Fans of zany alternate history tales will appreciate Ms. Davidson who brings a wacky freshness to the sub-genre. Harriet Klausner
