The design and construction of the pyramids, as in all civil works, had to satisfy functional and construction requirements. These requirements are clearly identifiable in these works and constitute a reliable source of information. By analyzing them, we will be walking down a path which is necessarily the one that the pharaoh's engineers followed, and this will give us an insight into the interior design of the Great Pyramid in particular and the pyramids in general. In addition, the study of the construction requirements will shed light on the plotting and construction of smooth-faced pyramids. In order to make progress in these issues it is necessary to identify the false paradigms that preclude satisfactory, comprehensive conclusions regarding the issues addressed. Once the false paradigms have been identified, we will move on to the design and construction of the Great Pyramid meeting the requirements, confident that the proposed methods will yield the results observed.
