I teach third grade, and use this book in my classroom. It is always a favorite with students, and one that adults also really enjoy. It is written with humor and much charm, with thought-provoking situations that both my higher readers and my lower readers can relate to. How great to find one of those heart-warming books that is not syrupy and doesn't talk down to kids! I literally have students laughing out loud when they read this book. Then the kids want more books about Adam Joshua, and luckily there are several. The Show-and-Tell War is a real treasure for kids to read and also as a read aloud.

I think this book is really good because I like funny characters. Some of the funny characters in this story are Elliot Banks and Adam Joshua. My favorite chapter is called "The Show-and-Tell War."
