Help for any parent--single or not (hint-- Military Moms)

Ok, maybe you are a single mother or father for whatever reason; divorce, out-of-marriage children, widowhood or a temporary situation such as a spouse serving in the military. Here is a book that would make a WELCOME gift to anyone in this situation. Funny thing is, though, the advice in this volume would also apply to anybody raising a family. There are lists of resources, certainly, for help if you are widowed or divorced, but there are also handy lists on how to run a household (for example, budgeting and de-cluttering. Lists of resources for health.) There is a section on signs of trouble; is a child exhibiting signs of fear? They probably won't tell you "Mom, Dad, I'm afraid of the big bully in the schoolyard who steals my lunch money and has threatened to kill Fluffy Kitten if I tell!" In children, signs of fear are shown in actions or changes in behavior. Here's a chapter on what those signs are. Any parent would benefit from this book, but I suggest you think about buying a few copies and passing them on to parents who have a spouse overseas. It would make a wonderful Thanksgiving present. Recommended for all new parents.

The Single Parent Resource is one of the most practical and comprehensive guides available today. With an easy to navigate table of contents, the book lends itself as a ready reference guide. As a single parent, I was impressed with the amount of information packed into it. It covers many of the issues that I have encountered and provides solutions that work. Single parenting is not easy but Brook Noel's book gives me more tools to deal with real life, day to day challenges. Thank you for giving me this help.
