Everyone has his or her own style at work. But if you look at the people who are successful, you ll see similarities. They always do the most important things first--they know how to prioritize. They... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I lOVED this book. It is a super-quick read that is full of insights on how to succeed in business and in life. The insights are simple. Yes. But that is what makes the book so powerful. It teaches us - and, in many cases, reminds us - that success is not hard to achieve. You just have to focus on the right things and implement them in the right way. Don't be deterred by some feedback that says this is just "common sense stuff." Maybe it is. But we are all well-served by being reminded of some of the fundamentals from time to time. One of best books I've ever read

At the risk of sounding like I'm gushing, this is honestly one of the top 3 books I've ever read. My husband's boss recommended it to all of his managers. He had it laying on the counter for weeks unread, so I read it. I was so engrossed, I finished in one night and took away MULTIPLE tips that are both applicable in the business world AND your personal life. I bought my husband a replacement copy so my highlighting wouldn't annoy him and encouraged him to read right away. Although he's not a big book fan, he too took many tips away from the book. It was just short of life-changing for me. There are actually more than 6 tips too -- there are sub-tips for each of the fundamentals which I found more helpful than the primary 6. On the personal side, it helped me cope through the death of my grandmother and get ready for my wedding. On the business side, it reinforced some principles I had which MY managers questioned, and gave me the courage to leave my job and apply those principles as well as new ones in a new job which I am much more happy with. I agree with one of the other reviewers that you should replay/pull this book out again after reading to refresh on ideas, especially in new situations. If you don't get anything out of this book, I'd like to meet you as you must be quite a sage.
Amazing Book for Your Career

This is the best career book I've read for a long long time. I am a principal of a headhunter in NJ and this book is a must read for professionals on their way up because it addresses all the relevant issues of people, process and principles. For people who have just landed their job in a new company, "invest in relationships" is a golden rule and "make sure you add value" is another one to stick by. You will be going up the ladder! I assure you!The book should also be named "The Six Fundamentals of a Successful Career"

This book is just what the Dr. ordered. Stuart's thoughts/insights, and how he made them seem so clear and concise was truly "genius". I am recommending that my senior management team read this book ASAP. I know that it will provide immediate value to our company.

I have read this book and could not give it a more enthusiastic endorsement. I am the Chief Information Officer of 5 different companies and use many of the principles in this book on a daily basis. Mr Levine presents his information clearly and eloquently. I highly recommend this book for any and all levels of management.ThanksJohn Saitta
