Wife. Mother. Homemaker. Detective. Kit Forge wears many hats, and if that's not enough, she's partnered with her father to open a new detective agency. It's hard to be all things to all people, but Kit never shies away from the impossible. Despite her hard work and good intentions, some things fall through the cracks. Namely, her husband. But Jackson barely notices. He's too busy putting out his own fires. As the new chief inspector of a busy London station, he must salvage the disaster left behind by the former police chief--an obstacle made all the harder when the superintendent breathes an ultimatum down his neck. Against her father's advice, Kit takes on a case involving a missing child, one in which she and Jackson become a little too emotionally involved. . .and end up endangering their own little girl in the process. Can Kit and Jackson learn that just because they can say yes doesn't mean they should?
What a great finale to this series. I recommend reading these books in order as you need the background of the characters to fully embrace them and how far they have developed. Very detail oriented and realistic, so much so that you are transported to the London Streets in 1887. You will feel you are in the miry streets with unpleasant smells and unsavory characters that want to harm others. Thanks to Kit and Jackson the streets are safeguarded but the situations they get into can keep you turning pages quickly to find out what happens next. I was glad to see Charles and Martha have a side story as I really enjoyed their characters. Baby Bella was a great addition to Kit and Jackson’s lives, especially when you see their protectiveness show. Kit was an admirable character from the beginning and I loved her strength and self confidence. Well written and engaging.

The Sleuth of Blackfriars Lane by Michelle Griep is the third book in her Blackfriars Lane series. This is the continuing story of Kit and Jackson. Kit now runs a detective agency with her father and Jackson is the new chief inspector of his police station. When Kit accepts a case involving a missing child, all their lives are endangered! This was a very gripping story. There was so much going on. Kit and Jackson’s love for each other was very obvious through-out the story. The time period was very well described. You felt like you were actually there.
I received this book from Celebrate-Lit for my honest review.

THE SLEUTH OF BLACKFRIARS LAND (BLACKFRIARS LANE BOOK 3)
by Michelle Griep
Kit Forge has started a new detective agency with her father. It is also helpful to their business, that Kit's husband Jackson is a chief inspector in London.
When you start a business, you must have guidelines for what kinds of things you will or will not do. Kit finds that distinction muddied, rather than clear as her first case comes up.
Kit strikes me as impetuous, but she wants to help people. Martha is my favorite character. She is always busy.
This is the third and final book in the Blackfriars Lane series. Each is a standalone and can be read in any order, but you would enjoy it more, if you did read them in order. I've enjoyed them.
