Book Overview

When her younger sister runs away to Paris to live with a German officer high up in Hitler's favor, English socialite Kat embarks on a dangerous journey to save her sister from the Nazis. Glamour, romance, and espionage collide in this exciting, high-stakes adventure.

As the daughter of Sir Alfred Whitford, Kat has certain responsibilities. Chasing her wayward younger sister, Ellie, to Nazi-occupied Paris was never supposed to be one of them. Unfortunately, Ellie has grown accustomed to the luxurious lifestyle her Nazi lover provides and has no intention of going back to the shackled life their parents dictate--but Kat will stop at nothing to bring her sister home.

Barrett Anderson was arrested for defending himself against a drunken bully of high birth. Given the option of jail or training Resistance fighters in Paris, Barrett chooses the latter. He poses as a bar owner, entertaining Nazis at night while his men train right below their jackboots during the day. An assignment to watch over two English debutantes is the last thing he needs, but a payout from their father is too tempting to resist.

From the moment Kat and Barrett meet, tempers flare and sparks fly. Despite their differences, they'll have to find a way to trust each other in order to survive this deadly mission. In the end, their hearts may prove more traitorous than the dangers waiting around the corner.

Both a daring journey into Nazi-occupied Paris and a captivating love story, The Socialite will enchant readers with its beautiful prose and unforgettable characters.

Paris in the 1940's during Nazi occupied France, historical/fiction, with espionage and romance !

I simple DEVOURED this book...but Never wanted it to end !! It starts in Nazi occupied Paris, where one sister is on a mission to rescue her younger sister from a forbidden attraction to a Nazi Captain, who surrounds her with a very glamorous and Luxurious life, while she never recognizing the horrors of war around her. It is while Kat attends a lavish party that her sister Ellie and her Captain have thrown, that she meets a Scot Resistance Fighter named Barrett. Throughout the story Kat and Barrett join forces to get Ellie away and back to London, and also to infiltrate the Nazi's inner circle, to learn as much as they could about the Nazi's next move and future plans. Neither Barrett and least of all Kat, expect to fall for each other, but they do...and through the story you are taken in by their espionage and romance. There are moments of the realization of Kat and Barret falling in love with each other, the closer they work together. This story is not short on all the violence, danger, friends killed, and countless narrow escapes of getting caught. It is so Action filled..you feel like your at the edge of your seat..many times cheering on the heros. I couldn't recommend this book enough for anyone to read , you will love it from the very beginning to the heart racing end !! It is a perfect picture of how Paris was taken over by the Nazi's in 1940's , it is a well researched historical fiction story with characters and a plot that is unforgettable!! If I could I would give this book 10 Stars !!! Love, loved, loved it !!!!
