The book is about the division of the world into rich and poor countries, and the disparities between rich and poor people, especially in poor countries. The book written by Goldthorpe entails a good educational experience through modern day societies. Written in great detail and thought, the author has chosen a format which is easy to follow. However the book itself is a challenging subject and arouses many questions that should be asked about the society of today.
