The book came in excellent condition. I am enjoying this wonderful book by the Jesuit Saint and Spiritual Director, Claude De La Colombiere. which is both simply written and inspirational.

I bought this book on recomendation from a radio interview. I was blown away by the short, simple, but very direct spiritual directions written by St Claude centuries ago. St Claude directed many Saints of his day and I can see why they sought his direction. Mother M Phillip put his writings into categories of faith that apply to today's journey as much as they did in his day. I am returning to buy more copies for my children and friends because St Claude touches on topics in one paragraph or sentences that rival the Bible in its depth but hit the nail on the head so solid that one can reflect on the sentence and how it applies to one for hours.

Short on time? Too tired to pore through Dark Night of the Soul? This book surprised me in the best way! Excerpts from St. Claude's letters, retreat notes, and homilies are neatly organized by theme. The translation is mostly modern and easy to follow. Moreover, the excerpts are often short - a third of a page to at most about two pages - easy to read even in the shortest sitting. The insights really touched my heart. I highly recommend this book!
